“I love building. It has always been in my blood. My father built homes during the 80’s and that’s where the passion began. I take pride in my work and I enjoy the dynamics of construction. The industry is continuously evolving and is doing so at a more rapid rate every year. I employ the best quality affordable products and ideas, and incorporate them with all my projects. It is my goal on any project regardless of size and scope to have a satisfied client in the end when I hand the keys over.”

Stephen Drake

Prior to working for BroadCraft fulltime, Stephen was employed as a Project Superintendent / Project Manager for nearly 10 years with a company whose focus was primarily multi-family and light commercial. While there, he successfully built a number of multi-family complexes ranging from 24 to 240 units (1.5 to 14 mm in cost) and six elderly complexes from 24 to 96 units (1.7 to 6.5 mm in cost) nearly all built under NCHFA’s guidelines, and occasionally under HUD’s as well.

Stephen is a graduate of Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University class of 1997. While there he acquired a BSBA (management), and a minor in International Business.

Your Project and What to Expect

BroadCraft spends a great deal of time on each project making sure it is professionally managed, built on time, and constructed by quality trades people with the best materials available. “Your project’s success we see as our own, and our devoted attention to you and your project ensures this.”

Two Key Factors for Project Success

Firstly, good communications between builder and client is paramount and expect it from BroadCraft Construction. Without it, translating your vision into reality is an impossibility.

Secondly, proper and sufficient on-site project management is what turns that good communication into client expectations. You must have a builder willing to spend the time in the field on your job to insure its proper construction. BroadCraft Construction provides effective on-site management to insure your projects success.

Multi-Family Construction

MBE / WBE involvement

We make good effort to allow equal participation by all qualified sub-contractors working on our projects. Even when not required, we use many MBEs and WBEs as we have had long-term relationships with both. Our most recent project did not require any participation of MBEs or WBEs, yet still 24% of contracts went to MBEs and WBEs. If you have a participation goal in mind, we can meet it using qualified cost effective trade companies.

Green Goals

Our ambition is to be a leader in implementing Green Technology in North Carolina Multi-Family Housing as well as HUD projects. We feel we can wisely use Green Technology, resources, and materials while keeping the average square foot cost at an economically feasible level.
